Plastic coated plywood surfaces and cut edges

Select the plastic face for contact, cleaning and the finish you need. Match the plywood core, overall thickness, machined details and protected cut edges in one specification for your sheets or fitted parts.

One order for the face and the finished part.
NAME THE SURFACE AND THE BOARD

Choose the plastic face and plywood construction together.

Start with the working surface you need, then set the core, bonding, reverse and finished dimensions. The offer identifies the supplied materials and processing so your workshop and purchasing team compare the same product.

PP faced plywood

Polypropylene gives the working face a named plastic material. Choose the face and reverse arrangement, colour and finish together with the plywood underneath. Include the required adhesion, wear and service conditions for your finished panel.

For your enquiry: PP material, surface finish, colour, face/back arrangement, core, finished thickness and required tests.

Plastic film faced plywood

Name the plastic film rather than buying by a colour or a generic film label. Specify film thickness, finish, bonding and the working surface you need. The reverse face and exposed cuts are included in the panel specification.

For your enquiry: Film material, thickness, finish, face/back coverage, lamination requirements and cut-edge protection.

Coated sheets and processed parts

Start with sheets for your workshop or order the cut panels, profiles and holes you need. Coordinate the coating with finished fit, tooling, edge protection and packing so parts arrive identified for your assembly. Carry the drawing revision, colour or finish reference and working-face orientation into the part labels and repeat orders.

For your enquiry: Part drawing, dimensions, tolerance, profiles, holes, edge protection, quantities and pack sequence.

SIMILAR APPEARANCE DIFFERENT SURFACES

Compare plastic, phenolic film and HPL by their construction.

Surface names are not interchangeable. Identify the face material and complete board in each offer, then compare finish, machining, working conditions and the relevant product information.

Plastic faces and phenolic film

PP is a thermoplastic surface material; conventional phenolic film is a resin-treated paper overlay. Black faces can appear in either product family. Compare the named surface, plywood core, bonding and intended use—not the colour alone.

Compare Film Faced Plywood

Plastic faces and HPL

High-pressure laminate is a separately pressed resin-and-paper surface sheet bonded to a substrate. It is not simply another name for PP facing. Choose HPL for its specified finish and application, with laminate, backing and edge treatment agreed together.

Compare HPL Plywood

Smooth faces and anti-slip surfaces

A smooth or lightly textured plastic face does not establish slip performance. For a working floor, name the texture, wear, friction test conditions, loads and supports. Choose the complete flooring construction rather than transferring a wall-panel or formwork surface result.

Compare Anti-Slip Plywood

Buying a black panel? Name what the face is made of.

A black colour can suit a plastic-faced panel, a resin-treated film or a laminate. Write the material, face/back arrangement, core and intended use into the order so the colour does not hide a different product.

START WITH THE PART YOU MAKE

Match plastic coated plywood to its working conditions.

Choose a construction for your application, not one surface for every job. Tell us the contact, cleaning, exposure, fixing and finish requirements; we quote the panel and requested processing together.

Formwork and repeated casting

Choose a formwork construction for the concrete finish, supports, fixings and pour conditions. Agree compatible release agent, cleaning, handling and cut-edge resealing. Any reuse expectation refers to that panel and the stated site conditions.

For your enquiry: Concrete finish, supports, pressure or loading, release agent, cleaning, handling and required panel tests.

Plan a formwork order

Equipment and reusable cases

Match the face to handling and cleaning, then specify cut edges, corners, hinges and fastening. Include panel mass and the case design where weight and repeated transport matter; the coating does not establish the assembled case load rating.

For your enquiry: Case drawing, surface finish, finished thickness, hardware, loads, cleaning and quantities.

Plan fitted protective cases

Transport and fitted interiors

Specify the visible face, reverse, joints, attachment and cleaning conditions for linings or interior parts. Include the relevant fire, emission or vehicle requirements for the finished product and intended installation.

For your enquiry: Part positions, finish, core, fixings, exposure, cleaning and destination or vehicle requirements.

Need a container floor rather than a lining?

Workshop and commercial components

Choose colour, texture and repeatable finished dimensions for your fitted parts. Match machining and edge treatment to joints and hardware, with the backing, inspection and part labels carried into repeat production.

For your enquiry: Visible finish, reverse, cut list, tolerances, joint and hardware positions, labels and order mix.

THE WORKING FACE AND THE WHOLE PANEL

Keep surface wear, exposed cuts and care in the same specification.

A useful comparison describes the contact and service conditions, the complete board, and how it is processed and maintained. Review care and test information for the selected construction before putting it into repeated use.

The surface in contact with the work

Provide abrasion, impact, cleaning agents, temperatures, moisture and light exposure for the intended use. Select the relevant test method and acceptance criteria for the offered overlay and complete panel.

The substrate and the exposed cuts

Specify core veneers, gaps, joints, finished thickness and bonding. Agree coating adhesion and edge or hole protection, including resealing after site cutting. A protected face does not close an exposed plywood edge.

Repeated use and care

Compare reuse information for the same overlay, core and test or site conditions. For formwork, keep release agent, cleaning, handling, fixings and resealing with that information. Use the care instructions for the selected surface and inspect it between uses. Include the cleaning method and protection that must be restored after further cutting or drilling.

Ready for assembly on arrival.

On receipt, match pack labels to the finish reference, part code, drawing revision and working-face orientation. Check surface condition, dimensions, machined details and supplied edge protection before assembly. Store panels flat on level supports, keep faces and edges protected, and use the agreed cleaning method for the selected coating.

YOUR COATED PANEL AND PART REQUIREMENTS

Specify the finished board, not only the facing.

Start with your application, required surface, thickness, dimensions and quantities. Include the reverse, machining and exposed-cut protection in the factory quotation.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Plastic faces, finished parts and working conditions

Questions before you order plastic coated plywood.

What is plastic coated plywood?

It is plywood with a specified plastic working face, such as PP or a named plastic film. The plywood core, overlay, bonding, reverse and exposed cuts form the complete panel. CUZI PLY supplies sheets and processed parts matched to the finish, fit and service conditions you need.

What does PP faced plywood mean?

PP means polypropylene. Specify the face material, thickness, colour and texture, whether one or both sides are faced, and the plywood underneath. Include any required adhesion, wear, cleaning or exposure tests for that panel rather than assigning one performance value to every PP-faced board.

Is black film faced plywood always plastic coated plywood?

No. A black face may be a conventional phenolic resin-treated paper film or a specified plastic face. Ask for the named overlay, its material basis and the core and bonding in the offer. Colour alone does not identify PP, HPL or the complete product.

What should I specify for plastic film faced plywood?

Name the plastic film, finish and thickness, face and reverse coverage, lamination and the intended service. Include finished dimensions, core construction and protection of cut edges and holes. We put those details into your panel and processing quotation.

How is this different from HPL plywood?

HPL is a separately pressed resin-and-paper laminate sheet bonded to a substrate. PP is a thermoplastic facing material. Both need the backing, core, dimensions and edging selected for their purpose, but their surface construction and processing requirements are not interchangeable.

Can I use plastic coated plywood for concrete formwork?

Choose a formwork construction for your concrete finish, loads, supports and fixing arrangement. Specify the overlay, core, bond and edge protection together. Follow care instructions for the selected surface, including compatible release agent, cleaning, handling and resealing.

How many times can the panel be reused?

Compare reuse information for the offered panel and the stated test or site conditions. Overlay, core, concrete or other contact, support, fixings, release agent, cleaning, handling and exposed cuts all belong in that comparison. We identify any relevant product information and care requirements with the offer rather than promising one cycle count for every use.

Does a plastic face make the whole panel waterproof or anti-slip?

Specify moisture exposure, plywood bonding, cut edges, holes and installation together. For a floor, select the required texture and friction tests under the relevant conditions, with loads and supports included. A smooth protected face is not a complete-panel waterproof or floor slip rating.

Can you supply machined and edge-protected parts?

Yes. Send the cut list, drawing, reference edges, profiles, holes, hardware details and tolerances. We agree the factory processing, sealing or edging, labels and pack sequence. Include protection that must be restored after any later site cutting or drilling.

Which sizes and thicknesses can I order?

Use Sheet sizes for regular and made-to-order formats, or send your finished part list. State the overall thickness including the faces, tolerance and the construction needed for your application. Custom length and width are recorded with the selected product, machining and intended use.

How do I keep colour and finished parts consistent on repeat orders?

Keep the face material, colour or finish reference, texture, sheen and permitted appearance variation with the order. Identify the working face, part code, drawing revision, dimensions, hole positions and edging. Tell us which panels will sit together so we can agree batch matching, labels and packing sequence for your assembly.

Should I compare coated sheet prices or finished-part prices?

Compare offers for the same overlay, core, finished thickness and delivery terms. For cut or machined parts, include the usable part quantities, cutting layout, profiles, holes, sealing or edging and surface protection. Ask which processing and packing costs are included so a lower sheet price is not mistaken for a lower cost per installed part.

Where is your plastic coated plywood manufactured?

CUZI PLY is the factory and direct supplier in Linyi, Shandong, China, with 10 production lines across our plywood range. Work with our team on the veneer construction, facing, processing, inspection and export packing. Timber sourcing and our manufacturing location are separately identified where required for your order.

How do I get a quote or request a sample?

Send your use, surface material and finish, core, finished thickness and dimensions, quantity, machining, destination and target date. For a sample, identify the surface, cut edge or finished detail to evaluate. We confirm the pieces, any sample and courier costs and dispatch arrangements before sending them.
