Plywood Supply Programs for African Importers and Distributors

Commercial plywood suits mixed distributor stock; film-faced panels serve concrete formwork; poplar and furniture-grade plywood support cabinets and fit-out; packing plywood is selected around a case or crate drawing. Import and conformity requirements are set country by country, and sometimes by the product's use. The importer supplies the destination, product description and applicable standard or asks the local broker to confirm them. We can then include available product specifications, test reports, inspection access and shipment documents with the quotation. A project-specific certificate is matched to the product and shipment it covers.

Confirm the plywood's HS description and SONCAP coverage with the Nigerian importer and current SON process. Regulated goods may require a Product Certificate for Form M and a shipment Certificate of Conformity before the SONCAP Certificate used for clearance. We provide the product specification and export/shipment details for the applicable steps; allow time for testing or inspection before dispatch.

For goods covered by their respective PVoC programmes, Kenya's KEBS and Tanzania's TBS require conformity checks and a Certificate of Conformity. The importer confirms coverage, applicable standard and inspection provider for the exact goods. We prepare the matching specification and available tests, then coordinate access for any required pre-export inspection.

Plywood made using glue, heat or pressure is processed wood and is exempt from ISPM 15 when the packaging is made wholly from that material. Solid-wood pallet blocks, bearers, dunnage or crate parts may need treatment and marking. Provide the full pack construction so plywood and solid-wood components can be listed separately for the importer.

Start with dry panels and packing materials, level bearers, protected faces and corners, a continuous wrap and straps over corner protectors. The pack and container loading plan also account for port dwell, transfers, forklift size and the final road journey. On arrival, inspect wrap, straps, supports and edges before unpacking; photograph any damage against the pack label.

Tell us which claim, standard and test method the order requires. We check the selected panel construction and the availability of matching sourcing transactions, emission or bond reports, or project-specific tests. Certified sourcing claims depend on a valid chain and sales documentation. Samples and third-party inspection can be discussed before production.

Send sheet size, nominal thickness, tolerances, quantity by thickness and any cut-to-size work. Standard and oversize production options vary by panel construction, available line and packing geometry. The product price is a reference for its stated construction. A delivered quotation adds the agreed packing, quantity, container, departure point and named destination under a specified Incoterm. The importer or broker calculates duties, taxes, conformity, port charges and inland delivery where these are outside the seller's agreed scope. Send the port and final city so the trade term and freight can be quoted clearly.
