Structural Plywood Specified by Grade, Lay-Up and Declared Performance

CUZI PLY structural plywood is configured for roof, wall, floor and engineered panel supply through a defined veneer species, balanced lay-up, durable bond, 8–12% moisture target, controlled thickness and declared performance requirements. Project, EN-aligned and Australia/New Zealand options connect the selected panel construction with sampling, factory production control, marking and shipment identification, so buyers can compare quotations on the same grade, dimensions and document scope.

PRODUCTION CONTROL

Trace the tested construction back into routine production.

A property record becomes useful when production control can reproduce the panel.

  1. Define intended use and governing product options
  2. Freeze veneer species, orientation, ply schedule and bond
  3. Select sampling directions and conditioning
  4. Prepare test pieces and record lot identity
  5. Evaluate characteristic or project values
  6. Establish factory production control
  7. Apply only the marking supported by the qualified scope
MECHANICAL TEST PREPARATION

Specimen direction, supports and load path are prepared for consistent testing.

The test setup records specimen direction, support spacing and loading position for the selected panel construction.

STRUCTURAL APPLICATIONS

Match roof, wall and floor sheathing to the declared panel and project design.

Typical sheathing applications connect the declared panel with the project design and installation schedule.

Structural plywood can be specified for roof, wall and floor sheathing when its grade and declared properties match the design. The project schedule completes the selection with spans, support spacing, panel orientation, blocking, fastener pattern, bracing and construction-weather protection.

SUPPORTED INTERFACE

Panel edge, joint, support and fasteners work as one installed detail.

The project designer completes the selected panel with spans, support centres and a connection schedule.

Qualified grade, production control, marking and importer documents define the Australia/New Zealand reference range.

Reference ranges compare current structural-panel market observations with the species, lay-up, grade, testing, production-control and marking requirements of each option. The final quotation adjusts for dimensions, thickness mix, treatment, packing, order volume, Incoterm and destination.

Quotation variables: Species, ply schedule, grade, property option, test programme, factory production control, marking, dimensions, thickness mix, treatment compatibility, packing, quantity and destination.

Marking: identify the product, grade, standard, producer/product scope, size, thickness and production lot.

Packing: use flat, aligned supports that protect panel geometry and keep each production lot identified.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Performance, standards and project use

Clear answers before you order.

What makes plywood structural plywood?

Structural plywood combines a defined species, balanced lay-up, bond and thickness with a recognised grade or declared property set. Sampling, testing or an accepted classification requirements, factory production control and marking connect that construction to its intended structural use.

How does exterior bond relate to structural grade?

Exterior bond provides glue-line durability for the nominated exposure condition. The complete structural specification adds the qualifying construction, grade or declared properties, production control and product identification.

How do EN 636 and EN 13986 differ?

EN 636 classifies plywood specifications for intended dry, humid or exterior conditions and general or structural use. EN 13986 addresses relevant characteristics, conformity evaluation and marking for wood-based panels used in construction. The product options may use both, but their functions are not interchangeable.

What does the EN 12369-2, EN 789 and EN 1058 option cover?

EN 789 supplies mechanical test methods. EN 1058 addresses evaluation of characteristic values from valid data. EN 12369-2 provides characteristic-value options for qualifying plywood groups inside its construction scope. The RFQ identifies which path applies.

What is required for an AS/NZS 2269 program?

Specify the exact grade, veneer and lay-up construction, bond, dimensions and moisture; then align testing, production control, marking and importer or project documents. The confirmed programme scope identifies the applicable thicknesses and sizes.

Can a buyer nominate PS 1 or an APA-rated option?

Yes. A North American option coordinates the applicable product and mill qualification programme, test scope and marking authorisation. EN and AS/NZS constructions retain their own grade and marking options.

Can structural plywood be used for roof, wall and floor sheathing?

A qualified structural panel can be selected for those uses when its grade, properties and exposure requirements match the design. The responsible project file provides spans, supports, orientation, blocking, fastening, bracing and construction-weather protection.

Are 18 mm and oversize structural panels available?

Eighteen millimetres is a common specification point. Formats such as 1525×3050, 1220×3800 and 2100×2800 mm require review of lay-up, press, flatness, test/property scope, handling, support, packing and marking before acceptance.

What must a Structural Plywood RFQ include?

Provide structural use, nominated standard and grade, designer property input, face/core species, lay-up, bond and exposure, size, thickness, tolerance, treatment compatibility, test and FPC scope, marking, quantity, destination and required documents. CUZI PLY can then recommend the suitable Incoterm and packing plan.
