Market
Middle East, Latin America and value-focused furniture factories.
Documents
Bond and emission test documents available for the confirmed construction.
Cabinet production

Calibrated Cabinet Production Panel

A calibrated low-gap panel for repeat cabinet production, CNC nesting, drilling and paint or veneer preparation.

SAMPLE SELECTION

Approve the face, full edge and intended finish together.

Compare the substrate, exposed edge and paint, veneer or laminate preparation on representative samples before full production.

Suitable for

Cabinet carcasses · CNC-cut components · painted, veneered or laminated furniture

Standard construction options combine an approved face, calibrated low-gap core, 6–10% moisture target and first-article machining check.

PRODUCTION CHECKS

Start where the factory can discover an expensive defect.

  1. Cutting

Will the saw expose core gaps, thickness variation or face tear-out?

Approve a full-edge and cut-quality sample before calculating yield.
  2. Routing and drilling

Which profiles, holes and hardware positions can cause rejection?

Approve a fully supported first article using production tooling.
  3. Assembly

Where will flatness, squareness or screw performance affect fit?

Test the actual joint, fastener and assembly fixture.
  4. Finishing

Will paint, veneer or a later overlay reveal the substrate?

Confirm sanding, moisture, adhesive and appearance with a finish sample.
QUALITY CONTROLS

Translate a panel defect into production cost.

The control is selected from the operation and rejection consequence, not from a generic furniture-grade label.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Before the purchase order

Furniture plywood questions.

What makes plywood suitable for cabinet and furniture production?

A suitable panel combines the required face grade with a balanced low-gap core, calibrated thickness, controlled moisture and clean sanding. For repeat production, approve a full-edge sample and a first article that checks cutting, routing, drilling, screw fixing, flatness, finished dimensions and the intended paint, veneer or laminate process.

How does Furniture Grade Plywood differ from Commercial Plywood?

Commercial plywood is commonly selected for general interior work where broad grade and price are the main decisions. Furniture grade plywood adds tighter requirements for face defects, core gaps, calibration, moisture, machining quality, visible edges and finish preparation. Choose furniture grade when CNC yield, hardware position, assembly fit or final appearance can create costly rejects.

Can Furniture Grade Plywood use poplar, hardwood or birch cores?

Yes. Poplar provides lower weight and easy machining; poplar/eucalyptus or other combi cores balance cost, density and screw performance; selected hardwood or birch high-ply constructions suit tighter machining, visible edges and higher-finish parts. The quotation should name the face, back, core species and ply construction rather than relying on the furniture-grade name alone.

What should be specified for paint-ready, veneer-ready or overlay-ready plywood?

For painting, specify face repairs, sanding grit, moisture and a filler/primer trial. For decorative veneer, specify calibration, surface cleanliness, adhesive, press temperature, pressure and time. For later lamination, confirm flatness, balance and press compatibility. An approved finish sample should show the accepted appearance before full production.

How are CNC routing, drilling, screw fixing and visible edges checked?

Use the buyer's tooling, support method and representative first article where possible. Record chip-out, routed-edge gaps, hole diameter and position, exit-face quality, pilot hole, fastener type, edge distance, hardware fit and finished-part dimensions. Visible edges should also have agreed repair and colour limits.

What emission documents are available for different markets?

EN 717-1/E1 testing can be arranged for the confirmed adhesive and panel construction. Applicable US orders can be prepared for TSCA Title VI/CARB requirements, including the required producer, third-party certification and labelling information. NAF/ULEF or another buyer-specified method is considered only when it matches the actual construction and order.

Which standard and oversize formats are available?

Standard formats are 1220×2440 and 1250×2500 mm. Selected constructions can be reviewed for 1525×3050 mm, while 2100×2800 mm requires confirmation of press capacity, panel balance, flatness, handling, packing and container payload. Thickness ranges from 3 to 30 mm, with the exact range depending on construction.

What information is needed for a furniture plywood quotation?

Send the end use, drawings, parent and finished dimensions, face/back grade, core preference, thickness and tolerances, moisture target, cutting and CNC operations, drilling, hardware, exposed-edge requirements, paint or veneer process, quantity, packing, destination port and required test documents.

Can furniture parts be nested, labelled and packed as kits?

Yes. Confirm the current drawing revision, nesting map, part IDs, visible-face protection, kit sequence and replacement-part labels. Support spacing and pack orientation are selected to protect calibration, flatness and finished faces during container transport.
