Birch-faced combi plywood panels with continuous pale faces and mixed veneer layers visible at the narrow cut edges
Combi core plywood faces and mixed inner veneers

Select the face for your finish and name the inner veneer arrangement for the part you make. Include visible cut edges, routed profiles, hardware positions and finished thickness in the same order.

Choose the face. Name the inner veneers.
THE VENEERS INSIDE YOUR BOARD

Combi core plywood construction starts with named materials.

Choose an inner veneer combination and the arrangement for your finished thickness. Poplar, birch and eucalyptus can be specified in different positions; the outer face, back and bond are separate choices. We put the complete combination into the product you order.

Birch and poplar inner veneers

Combine named birch and poplar veneers beneath the face you select. Specify where each material sits in the core, its grain direction and the finished cut edge. A birch outer face can be selected without ordering birch throughout the board.

For your enquiry: Face/back species and grade, birch/poplar layer arrangement, visible edges, routing and hardware positions.

Poplar and eucalyptus inner veneers

Choose a stated poplar–eucalyptus arrangement for furniture parts, further facing or packaging. Compare the complete board at the same thickness and dimensions for mass, machining, joint fit and cost rather than assuming one property from the material names.

For your enquiry: Poplar/eucalyptus positions and veneer sequence, face preparation, finished thickness, part mass and processing.

Birch and eucalyptus inner veneers

Specify a birch–eucalyptus core with the outer veneers and edge appearance your component needs. Include grooves, rebates and fixing locations so the remaining layers and finished dimensions are part of the construction you buy.

For your enquiry: Named birch/eucalyptus arrangement, outer veneers, profiles, remaining material after machining and dimensional tolerances.

BIRCH COMBI PLYWOOD

A birch face with the core your component needs.

Choose birch outer veneers for the appearance you want, then name the mixed inner construction. A birch-faced combi board is not the same specification as birch throughout: compare the visible face, edge layers, machining and part mass before choosing your order.

Agree the face and back grade, veneer cut, patches and matching for the parts that remain visible. Include the thickness after sanding or facing, the edge finish and the layer arrangement around grooves, rebates or hardware.

Keep the birch face and mixed core in one specification

  • Birch face and back species, grade, matching and finish.
  • Named inner veneers, sequence and grain orientation.
  • Visible edges, joints and material left after machining.
  • Finished thickness, hardware fit and component-weight requirements.

CHOOSE AROUND THE FINISHED JOB

Match the mixed core to the part, not only the product name.

Furniture, applied surfaces, cases and concrete forms have different priorities. Tell us what stays visible, how the panel is cut and joined, and the service conditions; we help specify the board and requested processing together.

Furniture and cabinet components

Choose the face your customer sees and the core around grooves, holes and fittings. Agree thickness, reference edges and joint fit for shelves, doors or cabinet parts, with exposed layers finished as part of the design.

For your enquiry: Visible sides, cut parts, profiles, hardware, support, exposed edges and finished-fit tolerances.

Plan your furniture components

Decorative and laminated panels

Coordinate the mixed veneer substrate with sanding and the applied surface. Specify the back arrangement, edges and final dimensions after facing, especially where a panel is cut, pressed or machined before assembly.

For your enquiry: Facing material, substrate arrangement, sanding, back balance, flatness, edges and finished thickness.

Choose the complete surface system

Equipment cases and protective parts

Compare board mass, cut-edge quality and the fixing layout for the complete case or component. Include corners, joints, seals and surface protection, with the handling and support of the assembled product defined.

For your enquiry: Panel spans, case design, fittings, joints, profiles, part weight, exposure and handling.

Choose panels for protective cases

Film-faced panels for concrete forms

Order the complete Film Faced product with the inner arrangement identified. Compare film, bond, core gaps, sealed cuts and support around the concrete finish and handling; the Combi name alone does not specify a formwork board.

For your enquiry: Concrete finish, film, veneer construction, bond, thickness, supports, fixings, edges and reuse conditions.

Specify Film Faced Plywood
LIKE-FOR-LIKE BOARD SELECTION

Compare the surface, finished part and complete cost.

Choose a mixed-veneer construction around the finish, machining and budget for your component. Compare it with an all-birch or other named board at the same face grade and finished dimensions, including usable parts, processing and delivery in the cost.

Keep the surface comparison fair

Compare the same face and back species, appearance grade, repairs and finish. A birch-faced combi board and an all-birch board can have different inner veneers even when their visible surfaces look similar.

For your enquiry: Visible sides, face/back grades, veneer cut, matching, repairs, sanding and applied surfaces.

Evaluate the edge and assembled part

Agree core gaps and joint allowances around the part you will machine. Compare routed profiles, exposed edges, hole exits and the actual hardware or joint—not only the face of an uncut sheet.

For your enquiry: Edge treatment, profiles, hole positions, hardware, finished thickness and assembly fit.

Compare mass and complete order cost

Use the same finished dimensions, moisture condition and construction when comparing board mass. Keep quantities, processing, packing and delivery terms aligned in the quotations; an unspecified mixture is not a like-for-like price.

For your enquiry: Measured panel or part mass, conditioning, order mix, machining, price unit and delivery basis.

Keep the agreed construction for repeat orders

Record the face, back, inner materials, layer sequence, grade, thickness and processing together. Keep the drawing version, face-grain direction, matching part labels and any permitted material changes with your purchase reference. These details help us reproduce the construction and component fit you ordered.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Mixed veneers, birch faces and finished components

Questions before you order combi core plywood.

What is combi core plywood?

Combi core plywood combines specified veneer materials in a plywood construction rather than using one timber throughout. The term is also used for different face-and-core arrangements, so name the face, back, inner materials and layer sequence in your order. CUZI PLY manufactures the selected construction for your finished part and use.

How does birch combi plywood differ from all-birch plywood?

Birch combi plywood can have birch outer veneers over a stated mixed inner construction. All-birch plywood specifies birch throughout the veneer layers. Compare the same face grade, finish, thickness and dimensions, then identify the core, cut-edge requirements, mass and applicable product documents separately.

How do I choose a poplar and eucalyptus combination?

Start with your face, part weight, cut edges and assembly. Agree which veneers are used in each position and their orientation for the finished thickness. Compare mass, machining and the assembled component for that construction rather than assuming every poplar–eucalyptus mixture has the same performance or price.

Does Combi Core mean the board contains MDF?

This page covers mixed wood-veneer constructions. In some markets, combination-core terminology can also refer to boards with MDF or other non-veneer layers. If your specification uses that meaning, name every material and its position when you contact us, so the quotation describes the construction you actually need.

Is combi plywood less expensive than all-birch plywood?

The quotation depends on the face, veneer arrangement, grade, finished dimensions, processing, quantity and delivery basis. Compare the same specification and price unit. A mixed construction is not automatically the lowest-cost option once machining, finish, usable parts and delivery are included.

Can I use combi core plywood for CNC parts and exposed edges?

Yes. Send the profiles, hole positions, reference edges, hardware and finished-fit tolerances. Agree core gaps, joints, edge appearance and the material remaining after routing. Evaluate a cut and assembled part with the selected construction, particularly where the layer pattern or fixing position will remain visible.

Can I paint or add melamine or HPL to a combi board?

Yes. Select surface preparation and the veneer construction with the complete finish in mind. Include the back arrangement, flatness, edges and final thickness after finishing. For ready-faced supply, use our Melamine or HPL product range to specify the surface and substrate together.

Which sheet sizes and thicknesses can I order?

See Sheet sizes for regular and made-to-order formats. Send the required finished thickness, tolerance, quantity and cutting layout, including face-grain direction and trimming. Custom length and width are recorded with the selected construction and use; the quotation states the dimensions and processing supplied.

What is the density or weight of combi core plywood?

It depends on the actual inner materials, layer arrangement, outer veneers, finished thickness, dimensions and moisture condition. State any component-weight or handling requirement. We use the offered board’s measured or agreed mass information instead of applying one density to every mixed core.

Does a combi core make plywood suitable for structural or wet use?

Select the complete product for the service conditions and any named standard. Core materials alone do not establish a structural, marine or waterproof grade. For concrete forms, choose the Film Faced product with its surface, bond, edges and support requirements; for wet-service parts include coatings, cuts, joints and wetting and drying.

Can you supply repeat orders of cut or machined combi plywood parts?

Yes. Send the current drawing version, part list and quantities, including face-grain direction, matching parts, exposed edges and hole positions. We agree the veneer arrangement, finished dimensions, machining and part labels for your order. Keep these details with your purchase reference so later orders use the same construction and component requirements.

Where is your combi core plywood manufactured?

CUZI PLY is the manufacturer and direct supplier in Linyi, Shandong, China. Our factory operates 10 production lines across our plywood range. We identify the offered materials, construction, processing and delivery arrangements in the quotation. Timber sourcing and panel manufacturing location are separate details.

How do I request a combi core plywood quote or sample?

Send your face choice, required inner combination, finished dimensions and thickness, grade, quantity, machining, finish, destination and target date. Include any project documents needed. For a sample, identify the construction and the cut edge or finished part to evaluate; any sample and courier costs and dispatch arrangements are agreed before sending it.
