Complete bamboo plywood panels with pale natural and warm caramel faces, visible bamboo strip grain and narrow laminated cut edges
Bamboo plywood with natural and caramel faces

Choose the bamboo grain and colour around your furniture design. Mark the visible face, grain direction and matching sets on the cut list, with the edge detail and finish your workshop needs.

Choose the grain. Shape the component.
CHOOSE THE LAY-UP FOR THE COMPONENT

Choose the bamboo construction behind the face.

Start with the part and its visible edges. Bamboo strips form the face pattern; layer direction and the internal materials define the panel build-up. Choose both so the board suits your cutting, joints and finished design.

Cross-laminated bamboo panels

Choose bamboo layers with an inner layer running across the face grain for furniture panels and interior components. Define the layer count and each layer’s thickness, with the face and reverse arrangement. Keep the visible edge construction in the selection when the design leaves it exposed.

For your enquiry: Bamboo layers, face and inner grain directions, layer thicknesses, overall thickness, edge appearance and component use.

Linear bamboo constructions

For narrow furniture parts or supported components, specify laminated bamboo strips with their grain running in the same direction. Coordinate part width, fixings and moisture movement with the design. A linear lay-up and a cross-laminated panel need different component and support details.

For your enquiry: Strip arrangement, grain direction, part dimensions, supports, joints, service humidity and finish.

Bamboo-faced wood plywood

Combine the bamboo appearance with a specified wood-plywood core for cabinetry and interior fit-out. Choose the core species, bamboo face thickness and balancing reverse together. Show the core and edge treatment in the order so the finished parts have the appearance and machining detail you want.

For your enquiry: Bamboo face and reverse, wood species and veneer lay-up, face thickness, overall thickness, finish and exposed or covered edges.

MAKE THE MATERIAL PART OF THE DESIGN

Choose the grain your customers will see.

Bring the face pattern, colour and finish into the component schedule. A broad bamboo strip face and a fine linear face create different looks; the direction across a finished door or counter is a separate choice from how the inner layers are arranged.

Flat-grain bamboo faces

Also described as horizontal or plain pressed, this appearance presents the broader face of joined bamboo strips, with recognisable node marks. Use it when you want the bamboo character to be prominent across doors, furniture panels and interior fittings.

Side-grain bamboo faces

Also described as vertical or side pressed, this face has a finer linear strip pattern. Set the grain direction on the finished component drawing and coordinate neighbouring parts so the pattern runs the way your design intends.

Natural or caramel appearance

Choose a pale natural tone or a warmer caramel tone, with the coating, sheen and acceptable colour variation specified. Match adjoining parts by appearance and keep each set together through cutting and packing. Colour and face style are separate choices from the internal lay-up.

CABINETRY FURNITURE AND INTERIOR FIT-OUT

Give each finished part a clear specification.

Doors, shelves and wall panels need different supports, joints and surfaces. Combine those requirements with the bamboo appearance and component layout so your factory order is ready for the way you make and install the finished product.

Cabinets, doors and drawer fronts

Make the visible grain work across a set of doors or fronts. Choose the panel construction around door proportions, hinge positions and reverse finish, then identify the matching sequence and finished edges before cutting.

For your enquiry: Door and front schedule, grain direction, face selection, thickness, hinges, matching sets and finish on both sides.

Furniture, shelves and table components

Use the bamboo face and exposed edge as part of the furniture design. State the loads, spans and supports for shelves or tops, with joint and fixing details. Specify the coating around cleaning, wear and the way the finished piece will be used.

For your enquiry: Component dimensions, loading and supports, joints, visible edges, coating and finished thickness.

Shop fittings and interior wall panels

Coordinate long grain lines, colour and joints across displays, counters and interior wall systems. Give us the panel sequence, fixings, access openings and destination requirements so the boards arrive organised for your installation.

For your enquiry: Panel layout, grain and colour matching, mounting, joints, cut-outs, part labels and project documents.

Cut-to-size and machined parts

Order rectangular blanks or drawing-led components for repeat assembly. Include reference edges, hole positions, routed details and finished tolerances, with the visible face and grain direction marked on each part.

For your enquiry: Cut list or drawing, quantities by part, dimensions, datum edges, bores, profiles, edge finish and pack sequence.

BAMBOO PLYWOOD CUT TO SIZE

Send a cut list. Receive parts planned for your workshop.

Put finished dimensions, quantities, grain arrows and matching sets on your part schedule. Add the datum corner, visible face, bores, cut-outs, profiles and edge finish. We confirm the cutting and machining scope, tolerances, labels and pack sequence in your quotation.

Plan the cut around the visible grain

Mark the presentation face, grain arrow and reference corner on the part schedule. Include trim allowance, matching sets and quantities before nesting; rotating a part to save material may change the appearance of the finished furniture.

Coordinate machining and attachment

Choose tooling and cutting conditions for the offered construction, with a supported exit edge where needed. Pre-drill screw positions as appropriate and check the intended hinge, groove or joint on the same build-up. A routed edge can expose different material in an all-bamboo or bamboo-faced wood panel.

Finish for the room and the use

Let panels reach suitable conditions for fabrication and the installation environment. Specify coating on the face, reverse and exposed edges, with cleaning and wear requirements. Check colour and coating compatibility together so the finish you choose produces the appearance you expect.

Keep matching parts together, from cutting to assembly.

State whether you need sheets, rectangular blanks or routed components, and whether dimensions are finished sizes or blanks for later trimming. Give each part a code and drawing version, with grain arrows, face selection and matching-set numbers. Identify which joints and coating steps your own workshop will complete.

Keep adjoining doors and panels in sequence through labelling and packing. On arrival, check quantities, part codes, grain direction, finish, dimensions and transport damage before fabrication. Store panels flat on level supports with faces and edges protected, then check their moisture condition for the workshop and installation environment before machining or coating.

FROM DESIGN TO FACTORY ORDER

Put the face and the finished part in the same specification.

Start with use, dimensions and quantities. Add the layer construction, grain direction, appearance, edges and processing so the quotation covers the sheets or components you need, with the product information for your destination.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Bamboo construction, grain, processing and factory purchasing

Questions before you order bamboo plywood.

What is bamboo plywood?

Bamboo plywood is an engineered panel made with bonded bamboo layers, or bamboo faces combined with a specified wood-plywood core. The lay-up, grain directions and face arrangement determine the construction you are buying. Choose those details with the finished thickness, edge appearance and component use.

Does CUZI PLY manufacture bamboo plywood?

Yes. CUZI PLY is the factory and direct supplier in Linyi, Shandong, China, with 10 production lines across our plywood range. We manufacture bamboo plywood to your selected construction and appearance, with full-sheet, cut-to-size and machining requirements included in the factory order.

What is the difference between horizontal and vertical bamboo grain?

Horizontal, flat or plain-pressed faces show the broader face of the bamboo strips and their node pattern. Vertical, edge or side-pressed faces have a narrower linear strip appearance. These describe how the face looks; specify cross-grain or linear inner layers separately and mark the face grain arrow on the component drawing.

Should I choose all-bamboo or bamboo-faced wood plywood?

Compare the component’s face, exposed edges, weight, machining, joints and relevant mechanical requirements. An all-bamboo panel has bamboo layers through its build-up; a bamboo-faced wood panel has a separately specified wood core. Tell us which edges are visible and how the part is supported and fixed so the quote covers the construction you need.

Can I order bamboo plywood cut to size?

Yes. Send a part list with finished dimensions, quantity, thickness, presentation face, grain direction and tolerances. Include matching sets, reference edges, banding or trim allowance, and any drilling or routed detail. We confirm the cut-to-size scope, part labels and packing sequence with your quotation.

Can you cut, drill and route bamboo plywood components?

Yes. Provide the component drawing, datum face and edge, hole locations, cut-outs, groove depths and required tolerances. Identify the intended hinge or joint and which faces or edges will remain visible. Your quotation lists factory processing and any finishing or assembly your workshop will complete.

How should I specify natural and caramel colours?

State the tone, grain style, coating and acceptable variation together. Natural bamboo and a warmer caramel appearance can look different after coating, and adjoining doors or panels benefit from matching sets. Mark the sequence on the cut list and include the reverse and exposed-edge appearance.

Which thickness and sheet format should I order?

Choose finished thickness around the part’s span, loading, hinge and joint details, with dimensional tolerances. Use the regular or made-to-order formats in Sheet sizes, or give us a component cut list. A 4×8-ft label is a nominal buying description; write the actual millimetres. Custom length and width follow the selected product construction and its applicable documents.

Can bamboo plywood be supplied with a finished surface?

Yes. Specify sanding, coating, colour and sheen, with the cleaning and wear requirements of the finished furniture or interior. Include the reverse and all exposed edges in the finish schedule. Check the coating appearance and compatibility on the chosen construction before ordering matching production parts.

Is bamboo plywood suitable for outdoor or load-bearing work?

Those uses need a construction specified for the exposure, loading, supports and project requirements. This page focuses on furniture and interior panels. For outdoor or load-bearing work, send the design, wetting conditions and required mechanical and bonding information so our factory team can address that application in the quotation.

Which bamboo plywood documents should I request?

Ask for the supplied layer construction, thickness, finish and relevant bonding, emission or mechanical information, with destination sourcing and fire requirements where needed. Use documents for the supplied product and intended use. Custom length and width are manufacturing dimensions, not a new certification requirement for every millimetre.

How do I compare full-sheet and cut-to-size bamboo plywood prices?

Compare the same finished part list, construction, grain, colour and coating—not only the sheet price. Grain direction and adjoining matching sets can affect how many usable parts come from a sheet. Include cutting, machining, edging, labels, protective packing and delivery, then account for the finishing and assembly still done by your workshop. Ask for the price unit and included work to be listed so a sheet quotation and a processed-component quotation are comparable.

How do I keep grain and colour consistent on repeat orders?

Keep the face style, natural or caramel tone, layer construction, coating, sheen and acceptable variation with the order reference. Use the same part codes, drawing version, grain arrows and matching-set sequence for the next run. Bamboo has natural colour and grain variation; define which adjoining surfaces must match rather than expecting every panel to be identical. If adding parts to an existing installation, identify the surfaces and finish they need to match before we prepare the quotation.

How do I get a price or request a bamboo plywood sample?

Send the component use, construction, face grain, colour, thickness, dimensions, quantity and destination. Add the cut list, edge detail and processing requirements so the price covers full sheets or finished parts on the same basis. For a sample, tell us which face, colour or cut edge you want to evaluate; we confirm the pieces, any sample and courier costs and dispatch arrangements with you.
